As promised previously, the CCA website has proven to be a great resource for corporate bookers and producers to see comics other than the top ten or fifteen working comics, allowing them to broaden their comedy knowledge, and more evenly distribute their spend across the industry.

By being a registered comic, we will direct enquiries through the relevant channels, as this assists the industry in ensuring that potential buyers have a wider, more informed choice, allowing merit to dictate demand, rather than PR, and hopefully raising the standard over time.

As some comics have expressed concern at how many names they did not recognize on the voting roll, we feel it is worth pointing out that the idea behind the site is to encourage comics and the public to become more familiar with the whole industry, rather than just limiting it to the handful of comics who have had luck as well as talent on their side.

As far as agents go, we feel that the more we raise awareness amongst buyers, we also increase pressure on agents to up their service for the fees charged. We do not intend to cause any damage to any one earning within our industry, but if we can encourage everyone to work a little harder, the only outcome can be a better standard.
