After matriculating from Parktown Boys High School in 1958 I studied law at Wits university and was most successful at Claberjas and pinball. I eventually graduated and went into private law practice for 5 years .While at university and in between pinball ,cards, baseball and the odd lecture, I was a "cheerleader" for the University which was a 3 -4 month stint in pursuit of fun leading the University students in bi weekly "sing songs"up to the annual Wits versus Tukkies(Pretoria University) annual Rugby match .I did this for 2 years. This gave me a yearning for entertaining others and after qualifying and spending five years as a qualified lawyer I opted for business which gave me the opportunity to spend my nights in pursuit of "entertainment". Having appeared in many amateur productions for various charities in the late 1960s and early 1970s, I then appeared professionally in the Adam Leslie theatre for over a year doing several shows doing 8 performances per week. I started doing pilot shows for the SABC in preparation for the launch of TV in South Africa. After the advent of television in South Africa I appeared in over 100 TV shows including Biltong and Potroast, Ya well no fine , Celebrity squares, as the host of a family fun reality give away show called Chainword, and many others .I did stand up comedy at night throughout South Africa having possibly the best time of my life in trying to have fun with the general population and was fortunate enough during this time to spend my days creating business opportunities throughout the country while performing in cabaret at night.I retired from business in 2005 and still enjoy performing from time to time.(the nights are mostly for my wife but she may have somthing to say about my performances) and during the days, for our grandchildren
